By Plane; to the Colima airport,  take a taxi to Cuyutlan (45 to  1hr).


By Plane, to Manzanillo airport, take a taxi to Cuyutlan. (Aprox. 1hr  to  1:30 min.).


From  Manzanillo, take a taxi to Cuyutlan, (Aprox. 35 min. toll road).

TECNOLOGIA SALINERA
The salt technology  utilized in Cuyutlan counts itself among the  old of  Mexico.  It is known that this is in use since the century (XVI) but its origin its  not known .  It is probable that have been brought of America by the Philippine slaves; or that be a matter of a development local tecnologic.  The salt is obtained of the “papino”or upper layer of the “troughs”- earthly adjacent to the well-, where the salt is placed for the water of the Lagoon, the crust of papino is raised with a rake, call “Gata”; carried to the cajete of the “tapextle” and mixed with water salobre of the “Tajo”- well-, for its filtered and obtaining of salmuera.  Then the samuera pours itself in the “pools ”or batteries of evaporation, where itself cristalized by the solar accion.  Finaly, the salt is stacked in the “asoleadero”, so that eliminate water, and transported to the  cellars (Bodegas) for its sale.  It is called “zafra” to the salt crop season, that initiates to ends of February and finishes at the beginning of June.  During the remainder from the year the Lagoon remains flooded, obliging the annual reconstruction of the wells and "eras" (pools); Work specialized, in charge of the “tendedores”.
