El Hotel Fenix ha pertenecido a la familia Ramírez Ortíz desde el año 1933.Jesús Ramírez, abuelo de mi esposa, construyó el hotel después de que la "Gran Ola", destruyó la mayor parte del pueblo en Junio de 1932.En 1962 después de la muerte de Jesús Ramírez y Rosario Ortíz , el Hotel fué manejado por los padres de mi esposa Dámaso Ramírez y Elisa Serrano Valencia. En 1996, mi esposa y yo, Geoff compramos el hotel. Elisa vive ahora en Colima y nos visita los fines de semana manteniendo la tradición familiar con su exquisita comida mexicana que es el deleite de toda la familia así como clientes y amigos que nos visitan.Para mantener un "reflejo del pasado" nosotros remodelamos el hotel y lo mantenemos como un hotel típico tradicional de la costa del pacífico. El restaurant tiene una cocina internacional, bar, con tv satelite, sonido estereofónico, etc. Nuestros cuartos son simples al estilo mexicano, con ventiladores de techo y baños con agua caliente. Los cuartos de la planta alta tienen un balcón con vista al mar y un patio. Estamos situados a media cuadra del mar.

The Hotel Fenix has been in the Ramirez Ortiz family since 1933, Jesus Ramirez, grandfather of my wife, built the hotel after much of Cuyutlan was destroyed in 1932 by the legendary "Big Wave".
In 1962 after the death of Ramirez the hotel was run by my wife´s parents, Damaso Ramirez Ortiz and Eliza Serrano Valencia.
In 1996, my wife and I purchased it. Eliza now lives in Colima and visits weekends to carry on the tradition of her fine mexican cuisine for us and our guests.For a "blast out of the past" we are restoring this old hotel in the manners of the costal hotels of yesteryears. The Fenix has an international Kitchen, a full bar, Satellite TV and a mega sound system. our clean, simple rooms are mexican stayle with ceiling fans, and hot water showers. those on the upper floor have a balcony and there´s an inner patio. we are just a short halfblock from the beach.
The tariffs for Easter, 330,00 (pesos) per person, with 3 meals including, kids 6 years free, and 6 to 12, 2x1.
In low season, 120,00 (pesos) per person, without meals. The third night free. House for monthly rent, $9000,00 (pesos) with three bedrooms, ocean view, air conditioned, without pool. Low season.
In Santa:$3500.00 (pesos), per day. Minimum 4 days.
